Get to know 2022 DCERF mentee Carla Gonzalez Arocha
Meet Carla Gonzalez Arocha, MD, of Mexico, who attended her first ARVO Annual Meeting this year as a recipient of ARVO Foundation's Developing Country Eye Researcher Travel Fellowship (DCERF). The DCERF Program brings young researchers from developing nations to the Annual Meeting, providing access to the latest in vision science while offering the opportunity to network with mentors, colleagues and thought leaders during and after the Annual Meeting. The goal being for DCERF recipients to in turn help build effective vision research programs in their home countries.
Gonzalez Arocha sat down recently with ARVONews to reflect on the highlights of her DCERF experience. She also shares her top takeaways from ARVO 2022, plus plans she already has underway for ARVO 2023 and her vision for her career future.
