Nightlife in the City

At the end of a long Annual Meeting day, you may want to explore some of Salt Lake City’s nightlife with friends and colleagues. Here are a few bars I think are both affordable and fun.

Cheers 2 U

Start your night at Cheers 2 U for some cheap drinks, a pool table and sometimes even karaoke. This has become one of my favorite places to meet friends after work, and drinks are often less than $10! This bar is located on Salt Lake City’s Main Street where you can easily bar hop after.

Why KiKi
Dance floor of Why KiKi silent disco filled with dancers wearing lighted headphones under multi-colored stars reflected on the ceiling

My first experience at a silent disco was at Why KiKi, and it was truly a memorable experience. During a silent disco, the bar is silent but everyone wears headphones that light up red, blue, or green ― each of which is a different channel of music. You can then dance with friends listening to the same channel as you.

Silent discos happen every Friday and Saturday starting at 9pm, but Why KiKi offers plenty of other activities as well, including bingo, drag brunch, trivia and comedy shows. Events at Why KiKi are quite affordable, and the best part about this bar is that it is right across the street from the Salt Palace Convention Center.

Keys on Main

If you are looking for something more relaxing than a silent disco, visit Keys on Main for a fun piano bar (you can check it out for ARVO Karaoke Night on May 7; tickets required; must be 21 or older). The bar features two dueling pianists who take song requests from the audience. It is a great place for a fun, uplifting night where you can sing along to some of your favorite songs right from your seat. It is also located on Salt Lake City’s Main Street, so it can be a great place to stop by after spending some time at Cheers 2 U or any other bar on the street.
