Conquering impostor syndrome and building self-confidence
Webinar| Dec. 11 | 9 - 10:30am ET
- Member/Member-in-training — $0
- Nonmember/Nonmember-in-training — $15
Audience: Vision scientists, researchers, and clinicians interested in learning more about impostor syndrome and how to manage it throughout the career lifecycle.
Summary: Impostor syndrome is generally described as a person's inability to believe that their success is deserved or legitimately achieved. Most people wait until later in their careers to overcome impostor syndrome rather than thinking about how we can eliminate impostor syndrome all together. Additionally, it is imperative to consider how this syndrome changes over the course of our careers. This workshop will be focused on overcoming impostor syndrome, targeting women in eye and vision research across various stages of their careers. The session will cover three main topics: defining impostor syndrome, exploring practical skills and strategies for managing impostor syndrome, and the importance of building self-confidence. Our goal is to provide attendees with actionable insights and support, facilitated by panelists sharing their personal experiences and expertise.
This webinar is hosted by ARVO's Women in Eye and Vision Research Committee (WEAVR). A certificate of attendance will be available to attendees upon completion.
