Opportunties available for every stage of your career
ARVO and the ARVO Foundation provide nearly $500,000 in funding annually to the eye and vision research community. Awards, grants and fellowship are available to members and nonmembers in several topic areas, including special awards for young investigators, underrepresented groups in ophthalmology and international members. Consider applying for an award to propel your career and professional growth.
EyeFind Research Grants: Providing supplemental funding in grants of up to $5,000 per project to researchers to procure human eye tissue samples from eye banks for use in a well-conceived research project.
Grants cover registration fees to attend the ARVO Annual Meeting and include a stipend to help cover travel expenses. Eligibility includes an accepted abstract of high interest to the research community.
Available to authors who need funding assistance to publish in one of ARVO's three open access journals: Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science (IOVS); Journal of Vision (JOV) and Translational Vision Science & Technology (TVST).
Women's Leadership Development Program (WLDP): Consider applying to be a mentee/mentor in this highly interactive, year-long learning experience focused on leadership skill development, facilitating leadership opportunities and networking within ARVO. Applications open Sept. 1 - Oct. 31.
The title of ARVO Fellow is an honor recognizing current ARVO members for their individual accomplishments, leadership and contributions to the Association. Eligibility for the Gold/Silver Fellow designation is determined by a point system under which members are awarded points for participation in various ARVO activities.
