Through our partnership with the National Alliance for Eye and Vision Research (NAEVR), U.S.-based ARVO members can contact your Senators and Representatives and urge them to 

✅ Rescind the order to cap National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding of indirect costs at 15%.

✅ Conduct Congressional oversight to assess the impact of the proposed cap.

✅ Require NIH to engage with research institutions before implementing policy changes.

✅ Commission an independent study on how reduced funding of indirect costs would affect scientific progress, workforce development, and national research infrastructure.
